Question regarding interior areas, specifically standard interior tiles.
Is there any way to get a ceiling without using the pillar tiles? When you use the floor tiles without pillars the ceiling is not there?
I also am hoping for an answer to this. Tiles that include a wall seem to automatically place the appropriate ceiling with it, but floor tiles that don't include walls just lead up into black space. No ceilings. How do I populate the ceilings for those tiles?
you cant see it in the toolset no matter from which angle you look at, but the ceiling is there - just step into a mod via the game without walls and look up
on the other hand it doesnt matter much, because with the angels 99% of the people play, you wont see the ceiling except for especially high tilesets like the castle and the shadow fort..... _________________ In case you find my grammer/spelling weird some times ---> native German speaker My latest upload to the Vault: Undead & Cursed Pirates |

Quote: Posted 11/04/06 20:33 (GMT) by Gorge Demon Killer I added sound such as music and background noise to an area I was building.
I turned off the editor, went somewhere, came back. Loaded up my area, and no matter what I did, I couldn't get the music or background noise to play again. Even if I selected different music or what have you. How do I get it to start playing again. And again... same problem here. Any ideas? |

How do i activate the facial expression animations?
i tried it in the conversation editor as well as with scripts using PlayCustomAnimation(oTarget,"#angry,1); it didn't work on any tried models and faces, even if the *EMO_*.gr2 files are in the lod-merged.zip. |

Q: how do I access the module properties? I have tried clicking 'View-Module Properties' but nothing shows up. When you click that it will be in your properties tab. But, chances are that you put that tab aside.
So ... Click "view module properties" and then go to the properties tab which now should contain your module info. _________________ Weltentor - German PW Project NWN 1/2 |

the warship and ghostship look walkable but they aren't.
has anyone experimented with these yet? I was about to design a ships interior when I realized there were probably no usable ships.... _________________ In case you find my grammer/spelling weird some times ---> native German speaker My latest upload to the Vault: Undead & Cursed Pirates |

Question; In some of my areas I want there only to be night or moonset, meaning no day/night cycle, only night or moonset, how do I make that happen?
(If you could make a step by step, say I've made a brand new area, and want there only to be night in the area, in other words, the area to be darkish.)

- Fire up the editor.
- Open your module.
- Open the area you want to make eternally night.
- Highlight the area in the areas pane to see its properties.
- Under environment:
- Set the 'Day/Night Cycle' value to false.
- Set the 'Is Always Night?' value to true.
- Under Appearance:
- Expand '7' (Default)
- Customize the colour/lighting however you wish
- ...
- Profit.
Edit: And while I'm here, if anybody could tell me what I'm doing wrong in this thread I would do a little dance.Edited By MuLmbo on 11/13/06 23:25 |

Question: Is there a way to smoothly link or connect or "snap" placeables together so you don't have to eyeball everything. Specifically I'm building an iron fence around a building.
Doors and gateways seem to snap right into doorways that they're made for. Is there any way to automatically connnect other placeables that would naturally go together (fences, walls, posts)??? |

How do I get placeables to stack on top of each other (i.e. a bottle on a table)?
Thanks.
Set the Stackable property to True on both of the placeables, then raise the placeable you want to stack on top using ALT-LeftMouse and press Spacebar to have it drop to the bottom placeable. If you don't enable stacking, objects just fall to the ground when hitting spacebar.
Once again another way Obsidian made previous toolset functions WAY more complicated. In the original toolset all you did was have to place a placeable on top of most "table-like" surfaces (tileset and placeable alike) and it would AUTOMATICALLY have it sit on top.
Now you gotta hold a key, click, drag, hit another key...but ONLY if you right click, open the properties (and probably have to resize the tiny properties window to see anything), look for the option among the dozens and dozens of values, and set it to true...first! |

Haha yes i will agree, this toolset is pretty damn horrible. Yes it is slightly more customizable but it comes with the sacrafice of everything else. Just moving around is a pain in this toolset. Since now buildings are placeables it takes twice as long to build a city. There is no snap for objects and stacking objects is retarted as well. These are only a very few problems. Overall Ill have to say im pretty dissapointed with the toolset. |
