Ok, I found those Lizards in the Castle, they ran away and no matter what I do Slaan doesn't take me to his Chief. I restarted, reloaded and redid this quest many times and all I get is a black screen for about 5 seconds and then I am still at the place I started talking to Slaan.
Is there any way to get past this point with some kind of console command? Or any other way to make this stupid Lizard work properly?  |

kill all undead in lvl, then bring slaan to room with other slaan, then talk to slaan seargent and cutscene happens, least that way i got it to work |

Thanks for trying to help. Unfortunately didn't work for me. I'll try a reinstall of the game. Hope I can play on with the mainquest with a "fresh-install". |

I'm having problems with Slaan, as well. I had the choice of getting him to take me to the clan leader, but also had the choice to check with him later, so being greedy and wanting to explore the rest of the place for loot, I chose to ask him about it later. Now I've killed everything in the castle and around it, sold off this and that and now would very much like to talk to him so I can find the clan leader next, but when I click on him he does not talk. When I mouseover his character, I am not given the option to talk. This leaves me quite seriously ... stuck.
Can someone give me a clue? THANKS! |

Did you right click on him ? That's what i did and the option to talk to slaan was at the top of the list. |

Thanks for the response! I think I tried it, but I'll get back in there and give it another go. I do, at least, have a save game before I went to the castle - just hate to fight all those undead guys all over again. |

*sigh* Ok everything I tried until didn't help me out. Maybe a dev can post some kind of workaround like I've seen in different other posts? Like a console command bringing me to the Chief and triggering the necessary conversation? |

I had the same problem, I had to reload to the Autosave or Quicksave and do the whole dungeon all over again.
It seems that if you don't leave right then when they ask, you are screwed. I know I spent a whole day trying to figure it out.
Best advice, reload at a previous save point and make sure you clear everything you want first...then talk to the seargent and say you wanna go now...Boom! you get a cut scene an all is well. |

I get the cutszene only when I stay and talk to Slaan by right-click on him but even this didn't work.
I have a quicksave right in front of the unlocked door cause I replayed from scratch. I tried everything mentioned here and I could think of myself. Nothing seems to work
I get the cutscene where Slaan ask me to get me to the Chief but when I say "Take me to him"... same old problem with the black screen and nothig happening.Edited By benkei' on 11/06/06 08:29 |

Chalk up another number for those who are stuck - I got Slaan down to the other lizardmen, spoke to the lieutenant, and decided to 'go there later'... and now I too am stuck. Travelling everywhere possible (swamp cave, the farm, highcliff, etc.) right-clicking on Slaan gives me nothing. Without getting past this, I think I am right in saying I am stuck, since I can't get to Neverwinter...
Not impressed by this kind of flaw - now I have to try and find a save and re-do. Regular saving should only be because we need to worry about dying, not because we need to worry about every decision... |

If you've right-clicked and brought up Slaan's dialog to go to the chieftain, and the game still won't proceed after you tell him you're ready to go, try using this script in the console.
Hit ` to bring up the console.
Type DebugMode 1
Hit Enter
Type rs ga_jump_players( "PC_Start", 1 , 1 )
Hit Enter
Type DebugMode 0
Hit Enter
Hit ` to close the console. |

Just checking, have you guys tried the "hold down right-click, select 'Talk To'" option. I think the people not experiencing the black screen bug aren't understanding what those who seek to help them say. They're not saying TAP right click, they're saying HOLD right click until the menu comes up. |

Well, first of all thank you for the reply John but unfortunately I only get the response "Virtual machine successfully executed ...". Still nothing happens. I gonna try some more but it seems that the commands don't work for me. |
