To edit your characters in your saved games, including your companions, you can use the Modified GFF Editor over at nwvault.

I would advise backing up your save game files before you edit them.

For your player character, open the <savedir>/playerlist.ifo , modify values, and save.

Most items simply reference a numeric value, so you may have to do some cross referencing in the 2da files to find out which values are valid.

The value for wings, for example, references the index into wingmodel.2da. Most of the wing models don't fit the player character skeleton so they are either too big or they float and aren't fixed to the shoulders. Two values that work are 14 (ErinyesWings), 16 (N_HezebelWings). You can try them out in the toolset first, see how they look, and then find the corresponding entry in the 2da file to get the index. Unfortunately, the SuccubusWings (bat/dragonlike) don't quite fit the player model (almost). They are expecting the c_succubuscapewing_skel for the skeleton file.

Tails are similar (tailmodel.2da). The only tail that's worked for me so far is 6 (female model:N_HezebelTail) and 8 (male model:N_HezebelTail). Fortunately it's a pretty cool tail that has nice animations. You can tint the tail using some of the "Tintable" trees when viewing in the GFF Editor.

Editing your companions is very similar. Just edit the ROS-<charname>.ros file in the same way you would your PC.

You can also change appearance, head, hair, stats, etc. from here as long as you know the valid indexes to use which can be found in the 2da files and from playing with the Toolset. Note that the values displayed in the Toolset do not necessarily correspond to the actual index in the 2da file, nor how many possible entries there are. There are many entries in the 2da files that just don't work.

If you want to make lots of changes, I suggest you create a new creature blueprint in the toolset, mess with whatever settings you want in the properties, armor set, etc. then use that as a reference for editing the character files in the GFF Editor.

Have fun!

Excellent, can also be used to open .bic files in your character vaults.

The scale options are particularly handy, and it might be that increasing the y scale will make the succubus wings fit.

*edit* oh and if people have the official editor thingy you can obviously still open up these files by putting *.* into the filename box first to look for other extensions.

This editor is cool; I was able to not only add a tail to Neeshka, but wings to my Aasimar pc. Unfortunately, the only wings which seem to be showing up are the Erinyes and Hezebel wings, as stated previously. That's no biggie, for not only do they look good on a (female) human model pc, but there's enough space between the wings and the body that cloaks won't look bad (and hopefully not clip as much).

You can also up the number of members of your party using the roster file.

How do I open the save directory? I can't find any saved game info anywhere in my folders. I thought I saw a folder for saved games earlier but now it's not there. All I want to do is add a tail to my tiefling. That's it. Is there a quick and easy way to do this? I know nothing about code or scripting ethier so I would need a step by step process.

Is there a way to edit the class, or class options for one of your companions? If so, can you post instructions here?

I changed Bevil to a Paladin, after changing his Wis and Cha and that stuck. However, when ever he levels it defaults to Fighter for the only class option he has. I guess its not a big deal as I can work the companions towards prestige classes and then just alter them every time they level.

I added the tail to my pc but how do I change the tinting of it exactly? It's not the right color.

I would like a way to edit my class and maybe my race as well. I picked Planetouched/Paladin and never use any of my special skill and generaly just go straight into hand-to-hand.

I have seen the class field in the gff editor mentioned above, currently it's set to 6 (which I assume is Paladin) anyone know what the number for a fighter is or if modifying this will actually make the required changes.

Thanks

Bump, it'd be useful to know what the different values stand for.

The values are the same as the index values in .2da files, there's no use listing them unless you're too lazy to look for yourself.

Oh, come on, be fair. There are 1,860 feats. It's not about laziness; it's about convenience.

How is anything more convenient than looking at a 2da file, it takes less time to open it than find your way to some thread on a forum. But if you want a more nicely ordered list of feats then go to gamefaqs and download the one in "normal" text format.
