Hey gang,
Well, after a few days of banging my head against the wall where I was not able to enable EAX for my Soundblaster X-Fi Platinum, I came across a nugget of information on the net that solved my problem, and hopefully will help out the rest of you.
X-Fi has a problem with Logitech's camera drivers. I have a Logitech cam (can't remember which model), that has a built in microphone. It seems there's a conflict that prevents your X-Fi's hardware buffer from working properly. I found this out after running DXDIAG a few times and getting the error that my soundcard didn't support hardware buffering.
To fix this issue, I went into the Device Manager and disabled the microphone on my cam. After a reboot, I was able to enable EAX just fine.
I hope this helps some of you. |
