Before you try and go off fixing things with certain downloads, try the below method. Numerous times it's worked for different people.
Roll your computer's clock back to the day before you got the error. Accept the new settings and start up the game. Voila, it should work. Somehow, SecuROM's piracy software is stopping you from playing your "Pirated" software. Like a timebomb, everyday is a tick until you finally reach the boom. Just reset back to the tick, atleast until a better, permanent method is found to fixing it. |

Worked for me. Stupid that the date has anything to do with whether or not I have the original disc, but until we get a no SecuROM patch, I guess I can deal. | |
