With the MoTB release imminent, we have been taking a look at the 1.07 patch and how it interacts with MoTB.

Many of you have seen already that we have been slowly bringing the code forks together now, so that the NWN2 patches are compatible with MoTB.

Patching the game is always a difficult process. When one thing is fixed, other things break. So, with that in mind we had to make a decision about how to handle the 1.07 patch with the MoTB release.

What we have decided is that, the 1.07 final patch will be "reversioned" to become 1.10. The 1.10 final patch will contain only data fixes from 1.07. It will not contain any programming fixes that are not already in 1.07. This means that some things, such as stealth, while they are fixed for us, may not be fixed in 1.10 for you. This is to make sure that when you have your copy of MoTB installed, the patch won't break it unnecessarily.

Now, for those of you that purchase and install MoTB, you should see all the fixes right away - including stealth - as they are "native" to that code. But for those of you that don't have MoTB, the fixes will be finalized in the patch after the MoTB release.

We apologize for any inconvenience, but feel this is the safest course of action for all players.

No reason to apologize. Proactive moves for the stability of the MOTB launch are smart.

So is 1.10 essentialy a zero-day patch that bring nwn2 up to motb compatibility or will it come later and we'll have 1.07 for both at launch (but motb including more)?

So next patch will be 1.10 and no more 1.07?
Or 1.10 will be after 1.07 final?
Next patch after MoTB release, will be 1.10 or 1.11 (hypothesis)?

Do you have any eta about the patch release date?
Because if i understand it correctly, people installing motb will be unable to play along with other people with vanilla nwn2, having two different games version, until the patch release... am i wrong?

Another question regarding installation of MotB:
Is it recommended to first apply all patches, and than install MotB, or is it same if we install MotB over fresh NWN2 installation. (I uninstalled NWN2, but plan to reinstall it when I get MotB)

I'm asking this, because now it's recommended to manually install patches (1.00 ->1.04.860 ->1.04.870 ->1.05.910 ->...), if you install latest patch (1.06) over fresh installation (1.00) you won't get everything that patches bring.
Or, is this bug already fixed now?

Should I remove the 1.07 beta patch before installing the expansion? Will saved games from a 1.07 beta patched system be compatible with NWN2+MotB?

In other words if you patch to 1.10 and do not have MotB, many of fixed features of 1.07 have been removed?

Wait a minute, this is as clear as mud. Am I understanding this correctly?

You're pulling all the promised (and much needed) fixes from 1.07 and we now have to wait until you've published your other game?

Please clarify -- I do hope I am incorrect.

Basically, unless it is a data issue (2da or TLK files), things that are broken in the 1.07 patch will remain broken in 1.10. We will not remove features from 1.07.

Players that have MoTB installed should be able to play on NWN2 PW/MP servers, but NWN2 players will not be able to play on MoTB servers.

MoTB contains all the patches from 1.00 to 1.10. You can install MoTB on top of a fresh NWN2 install and it will bring you current.

I think that this means one simple thing.

Obsidian fixed all the 1.07 bugs on the MotB code. Thou, the 1.10 patch should be a non fixed 1.07 over wich they will apply all the fixes once the MotB come out.

They will extract the fixes from MotB and make it available also for the base campaign after the release of the expansion.

Clarification... when you all say "the 1.07 bugs", do you mean "the 1.07 beta bugs" or any and all bugs in the game that 1.07 does not adress?

I'm a paladin right now, intelligence is my dumb stat.
