Thx to Drammel! He's the author, not I.

Quote: What started out as a "two months tops" project quickly became my obsession for 11 months. This is the first release of the Neverwinter Nights 2 translation of the Tome of Battle: The Book of the Nine Swords.
This class pack introduces the core Martial Adept classes, the Crusader, Swordsage and Warblade, along with the 208 maneuvers and stances of the Nine Disciplines that comprise the Sublime Way. Also included are 24 new feats, which allow any class to dabble in martial adept abilities.
My special thanks go out to my family and friends who've had to put up with me going on about "Iron Heart Surge" this, or "Ruby Nightmare Blade" that. Your love and patience is really what kept me at this.

Hehe, beat me to the punch, even titled the thread like I was going to. I forgot to mention a big thanks to you guys that have been waiting on me. I know its been a long time coming, and I've had so many missed predicted release dates that I've wanted to throttle myself. So really, thanks for keeping faith in me .
For those of you that aren't familiar with the Tome of Battle have a look here and here. My philosophy is that there are two kinds of people in the world. Those that love the Tome of Battle and those that hate it. Hopefully, the NWN2 community has more than a few of the first kind. _________________ Tome of Battle: The Book of the Nine Swords for NWN2Edited By Amadrammelec on 11/03/09 20:00 |

Damn you to hell! Here i am thinking i am working on the mod of the month, and here you go stealing my thunder!
Seriously though. This looks awesome. I definitely have to give it a try. If you (or someone) can do a merge later, once you are happy with things, with K's pack it would be just killer. |

Hehe thanks.
The plan has always been to make this thing as compatible as possible with as much as possible, hence the weird setup I have with objects being stored in the Book of the Nine Swords and the custom UI.
For the moment though I just want to iron out the first batch of bugs people find and honestly--take a break. Eleven solid months working on the same thing takes its toll. Good news is that when I get around to setting up the compatibility files it should be fairly easy. The only conflicts I can foresee at the moment are the handful of abilities that deal with saving throws. Saving throws are handled in the spell scripts which necessitates editing them which is where conflicts come from because I'm not the only one that needs to edit them. It's pretty simple to merge, it just takes a lot of time to go through all the scripts. Not to mention recompiling all of them. _________________ Tome of Battle: The Book of the Nine Swords for NWN2 |

I think most out there can add support to their scripts for this. _________________ DungeonEternal PVP PW | Joining a PW |

Hmm... yeah, I'm not sure if that was me being unclear or the source text. It should mean that you get the fighter "specialization" feats at two levels after a fighter usually gets them. So level six for a Warblade to be able to learn weapon specialization since it becomes available to the fighter at level four. _________________ Tome of Battle: The Book of the Nine Swords for NWN2 |

Drammel gave them high bab. In PnP they get medium; not that a big of a deal, but it does make them a wee bit more powerfull. |

D'oh! It should be medium, but somehow ended up as high. Good catch, I thought I'd remembered to fix that. Then again I think I'm doing lots of things right when I'm decaffeinated. Thus begins item 1 on the bug list. _________________ Tome of Battle: The Book of the Nine Swords for NWN2 |

Well, here's something for you. The UI only works with your main character; if you try it with a cohort, companion or SoZ partymembers, the UI is either unresponsive or doesn't appear.
I remember other UI's - warlockbuddy, I think - having the same problem. Not the world's biggest problem, but my dreams of smashing all opposition with 6 warblades in SoZ is thoroughly crushed now. *snif*Edited By Raygereio on 11/04/09 14:30 |

Raised this point on the vault. Indeed unless he knows something we dont, then main party member only.
Still, i dont really see this as too big an issue in return for what you get with this pack. At the end of the day, not many mods cater to single player parties and even so, a full party of Crusaders, etc, i can live without.
Its still a groundbreaking mod and something that is definitely worth it (as long as you are aware of the potential issues). |

I will i imagine notice many issues like that as i get it set up for PW use. You have to make things work in a more complicated manner on a PW, which also fixes a lot of single player issues. As is, he's tested it as a single player, i think the issues you bring up are pretty easy to address. _________________ DungeonEternal PVP PW | Joining a PW |

For some reason I always seem to forget these little details that end up being big things. Let me explain a little about how the UI came to be and how it functions.
The UI is the very first thing I worked on. For Neverwinter Nights 2, period. The idea was actually spawned from a comment ladydesire made last December sometime about having spellbooks that you could buy scrolls for and place in the spellbooks and then they would be added to your spellbook. That was what I gleaned from the idea and it stuck with me in January when I decided to see if it was possible.
The problem, as I saw it initially, was that you'd have to uniquely tag each item, or else every time scripts run to find the book where the maneuvers are stored it would find only the first book of that tag in the module. So I added the first name of the player that created the book to the tag under the assumption that OBJECT_SELF would always be the creature creating the book. A better idea would have been to double check the tag on item creation to make sure that the main character and companions had differently tagged books, but it slipped through my swiss cheese brain and I've always assumed it worked.
So, to sum it all up before I digress into too much jargon for the General forum, it'll either be a very easy thing to correct by changing the way the book item is tagged, or a long thing to change as almost every script I have checks the tag of the book item the player is carrying. _________________ Tome of Battle: The Book of the Nine Swords for NWN2 |

Just a quick update:
Both Kaedrin and ladydesire have given me the go ahead to work on compatibility so that is the first thing on the agenda after I clean up the bugs. Kaedrin also pointed out to me the Neutral Evil alignment of the NPC Crusader in the Tome of Battle on page 19 (the one I'd looked over like a dozen times for its alignment) so I'll fix that too.
I hope to have an update of all the smaller bug fixes on Saturday. Life's kinda hectic right now so don't hold me to that. _________________ Tome of Battle: The Book of the Nine Swords for NWN2 |
