I kinda put him in cold storage for quite a time after old owl well. There just wasn't the space in my party. But now, since Shandra isn't there anymore. I put him in, and he fills up the tank role admirably.

In fact, I am starting to like him more than Kheldar. For one, when I talked to him and he admitted he had a thing for me, though he was trying to suppress it, it was really kinda sweet. I am kinda a sucker for such things. hee.

He makes a better tank than Shandra when properly outfitted. Plus, he has buffs and his lay on hands can heal well over 100hp. So, if I choose not to bring any cleric, he makes a good healer in a pinch.

And unlike Shandra, where I felt that I had to go short sword else I would be wasting her feats. For Casavair, I can go any weapon I fancy since he doesn't have the kinda fighter feat options where weapons are concerned.

Plus since I am playing a castor EK, so I want to cast some spells. But Kheldar kills anything that comes close so darn fast. Casavair is good. WIth a powerful shield, he has the highest AC in my party, and he can lay on hands to boot. Yet, since he is not using a double handed weapon, he doesn't kill monsters so fast the way Kheldar does. So, it gives me time to use more spells.

This might seem wierd, but it isn't. I want my charecter to be an important part of the party. Not just some buffer for kheldar or just cast some status spell and let the melee mop it up.

Oh, and Sand is amazing. I keep having him in my party hoping to increase my influence with him, but there just doesn't seem to be much optiosn for it. I would hate for him to leave my party cos I value her much more than I do Qara.

Right now, his wail of the banshee is deadly. Once he casts that in a big fight, at least half the enemies swarming aronud my party just kneels over and dies. I am so envious! But I am just one level behind him, so I will get that spell soon!

I keep on wondering if I should just drop Neeska. I like the girl, but she often doesn't pull much of her weight. But I keep taking her because I absolutely hate the idea of having some chest or door I cannot open.

Casavir can grow on you... one way or the other. Whethr it's like or dislike depends on the person. And his "smite evil," FTW.

I've always been fond of him, for a number of reasons. He's quiet, for the most part, and understands that he isn't the one calling the shots. And I've always had a thing for paladins.

Yuck, paladins... Oh well, each to their own, I suppose.
Me, I never ever encountered a paladin I didn't hate, and I doubt I ever will. Casavir really was too eager to give me his opinion on my way of handling things in Old Owl Well and so was doomed to spend the rest of his days among criminals and other scurvy types such as Bishop. Serves him right.

I haven't played much paladins in 3E. Just yesterday, I discovered and used Casavair's divine might feat. It was quite impressive.

Suddenly, with a one hander warhammer, he was doing almost as much damage as Kheldar who is using both hands to swing his hammer of ironfist!

I was fighting the two black dragons in the crystal heart. Had Casavair tank and fight one, Kheldar tank and fight the other. Me, Sand, and the cleric stood back and provided equal support and fire to both.

Both dragons went down almost simultaneously. In fact, I think Casavair's dragon went down a split second before Kheldar's.

Oh, and he is the only one in the party with a shield other spell which he casts on me. And its strangely appropriate given his feelings for me and an added bonus. Not that my gal can't handle things well enough on her own. I think he is the best tank you can have amongst the companions.

Heh. You want tank? A frensying weapon master with a scythe. I felt like I was cheating by adding elemental damage...

But I'm with Neeshka. Paladins make my skin itch.

Nah, too many crit immunes in the OC.

Now give me a Frenzying, Supreme Cleaving half-dragon, never releasing the (Enhanced) Improved Power Attack toggle and we're talking. No need to tank anymore, because enemies drop like flies.
