kukri has only 1d4 damage. Axes are cool ye, but on a berserker, not a rogue, historically correct too. A rogue with axes is IMHO just
Im not sure also whether kukri has keen property or not, which would mean a spell "keen" would not apply on them.

20/3 is always a better choice over the long run because 5% of the time they out perform 19-20/2 and the rest they are exactly the same. hence the always and 95%. a 17-20/2 vs a 19-20/3 is exactly the same. you crit twice as much but each crit does exacly half the bonus damage. Bonus damage being the benifitial damage on top of a normal hit. perfect world. lets say that you cant miss except on a 1. comparing a 17-20/2 vs a 19-20/3. we will compare damage in terms of number of hits. for example a no crit hit counts as 1. a crit for /2 weapon is 2 and a crit for a /3 weapon is 3.

exactly the same. Now if we change that chart so that we can only hit on say... an 18

The critical damage output is exactly the same up till the point when you start cutting off the wider threat range, at which point the 20/3 weapon always pulls ahead assuming equal feat/equipement. The ONLY time you want a wider threat range is with devastating crit OR if you are rping/want that sword look. Damage wise over a long enough time the 20/3 will always win. ESPECIALLY once you start dealing with multiple attacks. that first attack may be able to hit on a 13 but the second one only hits on an 18 which cuts off your threat range making the 20/3 out perform.

again this is maximizing damage for dual weilding, if you dont care if you sacrifice some damage go ahead and build the character how you want.

if you want me to ever prove it anymore give me a test condition, one weapon 19-20/2 the other 20/3 , ac of monster, and character stats/feats/weapon properties. ill do the full damage per round calculations.

IMO (never understood what the H stands for) daggers are more rogueish than short swords. Since daggers are easier to hide, you van even do it behind your wrist, sneak up to a character and cut his throat. If you focus on daggers and multiclass with a class which gets Martial Prof you should focus in kukris instead.

No weapon got the Keen-property orgianlly, you'll have to find one which has it.

There's a problem with your theory, Tinweasele. Few people care about doing massive damage to a single guy. Considering the number of enemies in combat, that crit will overkill often. Crits like that are nice to take down single guys. But waiting around for a crit is never a good thing. Some people prefer to crit OFTEN rather than hard.

If I wanted to have a great crit range in some Final Fantasy game, I'd get the guy with the highest strength possible. But then why do people play the Thief or Ninja or Assassin? The crit rate. Doing mega crits is nice, but it's meaningless unless you are lucky enough to land them when you need them.
