Hello people I am really quiet upset.
I like the idea of the autouploader but it prevents me from playing on the PW I like so much.
On the synchronizing step it just keeps telling me that it cant verify the campaign.cam.
It just wont let me download any files and that even after having completely uninstalled and reinstalled all NWN2 parts (expansions + NWN2). and having patched everything anew;(.
Please someone help! |

It sounds like you need to contact the admin for the server. If there is a problem with the autodownloader it is most likely some thing wrong on the server's side. Players shouldn't have to do anything other than log in, sync and play.
I havn't used Campaign mode yet with the ADL(autodownloader), so I could be wrong.

Problem is, I seem to be the only one having these kind of troubles on the PW. Leading to the staff not knowing what is wrong with me;).
I have received tons of help from the people of the PW (uploading the needed files for me so I could do it without the autodownloader) but sadly the problem remains and it is allways quiet some work for those friendly people that are trying to help me.
So if anyone would happen to have a clue how to solve this I would be appreciating it greatly;) |

Find the file or folder on your computer the ADL can't verify and delete it.
Connect to the server and the ADL should download a new copy.

yeah, but no ... thats not it .... deleting the file and forcing an update should work, but its not .... we already went there about 3 times ... and his problem is not resolved ..... which is why its a "problem"!!! hehe .... get creative and help us think why its a problem. |

Have you compared the two files (the .cam file on the player's PC against the .cam file on the server) to see if there's any difference? If the files are exactly the same, then you can rule out the file as the source of the problem.
If only this one person is having problems, then perhaps it's the client machine. What OS are they running? Have they changed any folder settings? Do they have enough disk space to store all the files? Are they doing anything unusual that might cause the application to not find or read the file?

1. Get on IRC where we can actually ask questions.
2. Find your windows temp folder, it logs all issues there and can tell you what the game thinks the issue is. ( use "%TEMP%/NWN2/LOGS" to get there, and look for the NWN folders ( its in something like "c:/Documents and Settings/UserName/Local Settings/Temp/NWN2/LOGS" ) and take a look at nwclientError1.txt and nwclientLog1.txt.

Thx people, well at the moment the log only tells me that it checks every single data and that it is found & valid.
The Client error log just seems to be empty at all times not sure why or if it is normal.
Guess I'll see through the log once more when the server was updated again and I have the problem again.
For explanation pho_ who has also posted on this thread has helped me out by uploading the files for me and after downloading these it all works again.
The major problem is though that whenever the server updates and my data isnt completely the same as the data the server needs the problem occurs again.
For my OS it is Windows XP.
I have an AMD dual Core 4850e with 2.49Ghz 3.25 GB RAM.
It might be foolish of me but I doubt it has something to do with my hardware.
Also something I might add to your consideration is that I had a failure when installing it first. It wouldnt allow me to delete it the right fashion so I just deleted the NWN2 folders manually, maybe that caused some damage in the logs or whatever I really am not to good with these things.
About the IRC thing... When would I happen to meet you and in which channel and stuff;).

Log into IRC and ask, I might be there, Grinning Fool might be there, and about 5 or 6 other PW admins who are there off and on. It's basically a who's who of the NWN1 and NWN2 communities, quite a few who basically lurk 24 hours a day so they can read the dialog later.
Just log in, state your issue, link to this thread, and be patient, and if someone can help they will. I've very seldom seen an issue that cannot be resolved. You might have to wait for the next time there is an issue on your end, or for a while for help, but it's very hard to get to the bottom without knowing a lot more. ( you can post your logs and the like to the pastebin as well )
