Can't log in to the Social Site because it says my email address is already in use, but when I try to log in where it asks you to log in using your ea.com account (which is mastered to my bioware forum account already), it just goes back to step 1 and wants me to keep creating a new account over and over. Thought I'd try here since you guys pointed us to this forum since it works

I'd love to redeem all the promo codes, and also have access to what I assume you guys want to be a B.A. site. So thanks for reading this. Have a good one!

p.s. Just saw something on the ea.com support center about the sites being down, and have it set to notify me, but I just like to cover my bases.

So far, the Social Forum isn't at "BETA" at all. It's more like at the ALPHA stage.

Just now, when I went there, I found I'd been logged off (which I just don't do, as a general rule), but when I try to log back in, it just loops through some script, says it's "done", but doesn't seem (to me) to have done anything at all!

Have you tried it in the last few hours? It appears to be working now. Also even if it says invalid sometimes the game will still download the extras.

The Social Forum still doesn't like *THIS* PC for some reason. I may test with WinXP instead of my usual Win2000 and see if it suddenly accepts a Log on from this machine!

I was able to do everything necessary from a third PC I tried. No idea why it was reluctant to deal with the first two I tried with.

What were all three of the operating systems on those computers? If there is some kind of pattern, that may help.

What were all three of the operating systems on those computers? If there is some kind of pattern, that may help.

The computer I'm using right now, is running XP. The one in the bedroom runs XP and Windows7, but was running XP when it was able to log in and register the game. This computer was allowed to log onto there, however, all I got while trying to register was "Invalid CD Key Number", when I tried every way, every shifted / unshifted variety of ways to create the blocks of codes.

This one usually runs Win2000, but I'm playing DA:O on it, which wants WinXP. The one with WinXP and Windows7 also had Win2000 on it, but it seems that W2K misplaced the SATA Hdd drivers it wants to use, and now it can't find its boot drive.

I was using my LAN's regular File server / Print Server PC in Win2000 overnight. That one is booted to WinXP very seldom, but I just may boost the RAM to 2 GBs on it for grins and giggles, to see what DA:O will do when the pair are introduced!

Two days, no response from BioWare? I expect stuff like this from *other* developers. Not BioWare. I'm personally *stunned* that they are forcing us to use this BETA site in order to redeem codes for a collector's edition that WE ALL PAID FOR, and apparently many of us can't even access these things due to this stupid site not working.

Still nothing from EA with an update from their main support site, nothing on this web forum, and I can't post on the lol-social-network, so it's like, okay............. thanks for the total radio silence from you guys, and meanwhile, you have hundreds of rabid gamers who just wanna use Final Reason or another goofy item that we paid 10 extra bucks for (plus tax). But why can't we? Not because we're dunces or can't "figure it out", but because BioWare either decided or was made to funnel ALL of us to some BETA SITE? It's just a Bush League move.

To reiterate, I love BioWare Games, played 'em since Baldur's Gate 1. I'm used to hiccups with releases, but this one is a glaring slap to me, and many other people who paid EXTRA dollars so we could enjoy YOUR game and get you BioWare guys some extra profits (if that's how it works, i'm no economist).

And no, a blanket forum post from before this game was released telling people "we're working on it" is NOT enough. If I can write these posts, and other people can, you can come on here and say something like OOPS, SORRY!

But nah, just fix it and everything will go away? I for one, will remember this horrible launch of a SINGLE PLAYER RPG when time comes for you guys to release your MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE RPG. What's gonna happen then? Is there going to be a BETA SW:TOR Social Network where we can all spend the next week going in circles, juggling a ea.com account, a dragon age account, and a SW:TOR account? Get real.

I USED to have a BioWare Forums account that had all my nifty BioWare games that I'd registered in the past, like mose of you guys do with NWN1/2, etc. But that's all gone now since I probably borked it up trying to get your dang website to work for me... Thanks for that, BioWare! The least of my worries, but still, for a nerd like me, it was a small token of pride.

Finally, I understand you guys wanna be hip with the social networking and the polls and screenshots and stuff. I'm down with that, even though I'm not really the biggest facebook guy. But whoever decided "yeah, let's make them redeem their codes HERE and ONLY here!" deserves to come on here and APOLOGIZE to US! Thank you for your time.

p.s. Yeah, this may be somewhat of a rant, but at those point, who cares? I personally think they deserve it for this social site thing. I'm NOT annoyed that we're being delayed, delays happen with games. I'm annoyed that we're being sent to a BETA site for a game that ISN'T in BETA. Seriously.

Did you look at the other posts on the same topic as yours where we have answered? Like this Sticky at the top of the forum: Click Here

Just because some fans, such as yourself, start new threads on ideas already being discussed and answered elsewhere and we haven't had the chance to answer in each thread, doesn't mean we are ignoring the issue.

Please check the link, or thee other threads, where we have already commented. If this does not fix your issue, we are continuing to work on more fixes. Thanks.

You see, I wasn't implying that you guys *weren't* working on it. And yes, I did check the PDF's to see if one of those could fix my specific issue. No avail.

The *point* is that people spent money ($) for certain in-game items and content. These items and content are only accessible through a somewhat new (BETA) website that obviously wasn't prepared for either the traffic or the account mergers or something. Maybe all us morons who made new accounts but didn't need to are to blame, or something or other. While some people have had success logging in, some of us are just baffled and upset, watching other Dragon Age: Origins players have complete or near-complete access to the same features since they are lucky or are web-savvy enough to be able to get in to the site.

But now many of our characters are stymied, albeit slightly, but still, that stymie COST us at least ten dollars. I think that's just silly. Sorry for not being all sunshine for ya.

And of course THANK YOU for addressing the problem, coming here to reply, and dealing with your disgruntled (but LOYAL) customers who simply want access to the content we've paid for.

Actually the point is that MOST players have had no problems whatsoever, have purchased the game without problem, created accounts without problem and have purchased, downloaded or redeemed content with no problem. Anyone overstating how bad or problematic this has been for "tons of people" or similar is misstating things.

Are there some players who have had problems? Yes. Are these players important? Yes, absolutely. Is BioWare still working to help these players (like you) who have had problems? Yes, absolutely again.

Now, does it matter to you (whoever you are who reads this who is having problems) that most people are playing without a problem? Not really. At the end of the day, if you bought something and it doesn't work right (for whatever reason) you are upset. I get it. I've been there too, I've been upset just like you and it sucks to be on the not working correctly end of the equation.

However, some people assume that we were not ready. This is incorrect, we were. Some people assume it is the fault of the new site. While there may be individuals who are having problems, it ISN'T because the site says "beta" on it. The site says Beta because it is not finished yet and is a work in progress. It was been worked on, tested, fixed, retest and continues to be refined, revamped and improved for a very long time now. It was ready at launch and, after we cleared up the server load, it has worked great.

Some people also assume because their problems aren't fixed yet that we don't care. This is absolutely wrong. We care about all our fans and our customers. The ones who have not yet played Dragon Age: Origins as much as those who have. We continue to work on the issues people have. One might assume that if there is a problem and not yet fixed, it might be because it is very rare, hard to reproduce and harder still to fix. Does this mean we have given up? No. Does this mean those people are out of luck? No.

We want you to get what you paid for, enjoy it, tell your friends and have fun. It is why we make games. We want you to stop complaining, but only once your issues are fixed and you CAN get what you paid for and enjoy it. We don't want to shut you up, we want to fix your problems.

We;'re still working on things. Trust me, if they were easy, they would have been fixed already. Work is continuing and, when we have information or ways to help you, we will let you know.

Jesse said the new website had 147,000 users at the time of a particular post. So when you consider the number of people posting about problems...

Just something for Dragon Age players to consider.

For a point of reference, when I had a situation with two out of three PCs being unable to log onto the Social Forum site at EA, even though one of those locked out had been able to do so previously, it wasn't the OS version giving me trouble. After rebooting, no matter to what Windows OS (I have W2K, WinXP, and Win7 all in active use, & still prefer Win2000), I was able to log on.

Some condition that changes over time while the systems are running was interfering with the scripts that process the Log-On. The PC I could log on with, but not register the game on, had been running 24/7 for a month or so. I still haven't added the second GB of RAM for that one (it handles file backup, printer server, and firewall chores for my LAN, although I now have a router that means I don't need it to act as a firewall any more).

Geez Bioware guy, you're defensive about your company, but man! Settle down son, we get that you're trying, no need to have a hissy fit essay-style. We dislike your profile system because it's stopping us from playing your wicked game. It's dang near a compliment. It means your game rules, but your not-so-Beta site is making us reasonably angry. Suck it up and say you're sorry for your mistakes, not MOST people are doing well, we'll get back to you.

Back to the issue. I've gone one further and redeemed the codes on an account, DrJekyyl. The e-mail was improperly linked to my EA account email. I managed to get the email to link to the account on the DAForums. However, on those forums, i still can't see my redeemed stuff (which may be normal), but I can on the social site. In my confusion, I fell deeper and I managed to create a second social site account that was properly linked to my email address, DrJekyyl2. But since I can't move the redeem codes, DrJekyyl2 is useless. I deleted it, and am at a loss as to what to try next. Using my email to login to any site links it to the wrong account, and not the DrJekyyl. The stickies don't really seem to do much for me. I might need someone to manually fix this on EA's side. I dunno... I probably could simplify that, but that would make too much sense now wouldn't it?

This whole situation is really pissing me off beyond belief. I've never been one for nerd rage, but I'm playing an awesome game I *want* to give you additional money and redeem the items that were in the collectors edition and I can't because this system is screwed up.

You guys need to get with the program and start giving us something useful. There are clearly enough of us having a problem that you need to take a more direct approach.
